Our Story
Dexterity Build is a Hamilton based building and joinery company working across the wider Waikato. Our mission is simple: to deliver high quality, functional and stylish solutions that make homes and outdoor spaces feel truly special.
Founded in 2023, we take on home renovations, extensions, farm and rural sheds, new builds, decks, bathrooms and timber joinery right across Hamilton, Cambridge, Te Awamutu and the surrounding Waikato. As Licensed Building Practitioners, we bring the right skills and accountability to every job.
We believe great builds come from care, precision and trust. Every project is guided by our commitment to quality, clear communication and doing right by our clients. We love not just building amazing spaces, but building friendships along the way, getting to know our clients and making the process enjoyable for everyone.
The name Dexterity means skill, precision and expertise. It reflects the craftsmanship and attention to detail at the heart of everything we do, representing our commitment to delivering quality builds with a hands-on approach and lasting results.
Tom Alderson
Tom comes from a background in Business, completing his degree at the University of Waikato before turning his hand at working in the outdoors on the building site. When not on the tools and discussing the next project, Tom can be found on the golf course reliving his childhood professional golfing dream. Tom and the team are excited and passionate about delivering quality building outcomes with an emphasis on community spirit and personal relationships. We can't wait to help you make your next dream a reality!
Brenton Holdsworth
Meet Brenton Holdsworth, originally from Auckland, with a background in Business and film set making. He's now putting his hands-on skills to use as he works toward completing his building apprenticeship. Brenton's mix of creativity and practical thinking makes him a great asset on-site, bringing both precision and fresh ideas to the team. Outside of work, you'll find him reading, playing golf, or relaxing with his partner — always keeping a good balance between work and life.
Kaitlyn Mehrtens
Kaitlyn brings creativity and precision to our team as our full-time social media and content creator. Originally from Taranaki, she started her career as a primary school teacher in Hamilton, developing strong communication skills and attention to detail — skills she now uses to capture and share stories that connect with our audience. When she's not behind the camera, Kaitlyn enjoys exploring the outdoors, hiking, and spending time with friends and family. You'll most likely spot her on site at your project, snapping photos for our social channels.
